It is  doubtful  if  web would  have  been so  advantages,  if  search engine  were  not  there  I think  because of search  engine  it  has  become  an  added benefit for  different  people  of  different  domain at  present  most  of  the  business  are successful as  search engine  are becoming  beneficial.

The benefit of search engines, to individuals and society is immerse. In fact, it is doubtful if the web would be as advantageous and essential to so many, if it were not for search engines. Certainly, the eCommerce environment would be much different if it were not for search engines, which provide access to many small to medium size enterprises.

Given the amount of information currently on the Web (estimates are at approximately 30 trillion individual pages but increasing continually), one could say that search engines are indispensable to locating the online information that has become essential to the private, social, and professional lives of many individuals.  People use search engines to locate and then access information on websites in a variety of areas, including health, business, government, education, entertainment, news, religion, and eCommerce.

Search engines are the most popular way to locate online information.  To provide an idea of the massive scale of search engine use, there were approximate 2 trillion searches conducted worldwide in 2012.  In the U.S., 91% of online adults use search engines to locate and access information on the Web, and 59% of these do so daily.  The typical online user in the U.S. performs approximately 1,500 searches per year.  Given this volume of use, it is clear that search engines have become an indispensable utility for locating online information.  In fact, 91% of U.S. users saying they always or most of the time find the information they are seeking when using a search engine.  By providing an easy (and free) way to locate and access information, search engines make the Web a more valuable resource.

With the volume and scope of information made accessible by search engines, people use search engines to investigate or address nearly every aspect of life.  A large percentage of searching is commercial; however, 6.5% of U.S. searches in 2008 relate to travel.  More than 4% of U.S. searches are related to locating information about other people.  In fact, more than half of all U.S. online adults have used a search engine to find information about various people in their lives.  Forty-seven percent of people even use search engines to locate online information about themselves.  Four percent of U.S. searches are related to government, and 1% are religious or spiritually-related.  Search engines are used extensively for health and medical searching (~7% of all U.S. searches), and 72% of U.S. online adults have searched for health information within the past year, with more than 75% of them starting at a search engine.

Search engines have the societal impact of making information more accessible and reducing the time it takes to locate desired information, thereby making people more efficient.  With search engines providing people the ability to locate information and websites, organisations also benefit as they are able to reach their constituencies to provide information and cultivate communities of practice.
